Our Story

A small studio built around one director, a tight crew, and a world that sits between familiar and unsettling.

Vaathi BTS – behind the monitor

Vaathi started as late-night shoots with borrowed cameras and improvised locations. Those experiments turned into a brand.

Pillar II

Tight Tension.

Tempering tight tension allows the audience to feel fully immersed & at the edge of their seats

III

Pillar III

Black & red as story.

Color is a signal that the story has just shifted.

Director's note

"We have to make movies that we ourselves would want to watch."

The Studio

A small crew, all the craft in-house: directing, camera, edit, sound and score — one timeline, one universe, always open to collaboration.

Vaathi is purposefully small: tighter crews, more intentional frames. We like spaces that feel real — streets, apartments, cemeteries, empty classrooms at night — and we build everything around that mood.

The camera waits at the end of the hallway as footsteps echo closer. A red shape creeps into frame and stops on the final line.

Add a thin red glow when the story tilts — no big explosions, just tension.

Have a story that fits the Vaathi world?

We work on short films, visual pieces, and photo series. If you're looking to build something atmospheric, quiet, and a little off-center, we'd love to hear about it.

HOW WE LIKE TO WORK

We keep the crew lean and the communication direct. If you reach out, you'll talk to Manu, not an inbox that never gets checked. Tell us about the tone, references, and constraints, and we'll figure out if it belongs in the Vaathi universe.
